Nerissa Daniels joined Sibylla in the spring of 2001 after meeting a couple of the founders, Jeannette and Lisa, at a Suspicious Cheese Lords rehearsal, where she originally went for the food.... and music. Nerissa happened to be looking for a small group, Jeannette and Lisa had an opening in their small women's group... it was fate!
Following in the footsteps of her big sister, Nerissa began piano lessons at age 5, and stuck with it for 13 years. She also became a self-proclaimed "choir nerd," singing in the various choirs and chamber groups while a student at the Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore.
Nerissa went on to receive BAs in Music and Child Development from Tufts University, where she sang with the Tufts University Chorale and Chamber Singers, and was a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Department of Music. She has studied voice with Alice Mack (Baltimore), Mary Lee Cirella and Carol Mastrodomenico (Boston). In addition to Sibylla, she sings in the Cathedral Choral Society of Washington.
By day, Nerissa is an Editorial Assistant at National Public Radio. She lives in Baltimore with her husband Patrick and their two dogs, Chloe and Frida. In her spare time, she tries to catch up with what's on her TiVo.
