Jeannette had an idea...and a boyfriend heading to law school. She had to do something with her new found free time, why not start a women's vocal chamber ensemble? Together with four other women (Tari, Marti, and two Sibylla alumnae- Lisa and Margaret), she did just that. And while the boyfriend is history, Sibylla is thriving.
Jeannette's musical career began when she was 8 -- singing in the 3rd grade chorus. She sang through high school and in the University Choir and Chamber Choir at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Her first trip overseas was with the University Choir -- singing Evensong and Sunday services in cathedrals and abbeys throughout Southern England. After graduation, she moved to Washington, DC, and in her first week in the city, Jeannette joined the Cathedral Choral Society. The following year, she joined the chamber chorus Coral Cantigas and sang with them for five years, serving as the chorus librarian for three. She has enjoyed participating in choral workshops, particularly programs in the UK. In 1999, she traveled to Canterbury, England, to work with conductor Nicholas Cleobury at the Berkshire Choral Festival in Canterbury; which culminated in a performance at Canterbury Cathedral. In July 2003, Jeannette was accepted to the Tallis Scholars Summer School -- a week of study, singing, and workshops with members of the Tallis Scholars. The program included singing Evensong services at Ely Cathedral and performing in a concert with members of the Tallis Scholars and conducted by Peter Phillips.
